Web Notes
Over three hundred million web notes were printed between 1992 and 1996 at the BEP’s facility in Washington, D.C. They were printed in the series of 1988A, 1993 and 1995. A web note differs from a regular Federal Reserve note in that it was printed on a press very similar to a newspaper press which uses paper rolls much like a roll of toilet tissue, but in this case the roll was 25-1/2 inches wide and 24,000 feet long! Web notes have subtle differences compared to regular sheet-fed FRN’s.
