Ireland Gun Money

This category of Foreign Coins offers the collector a unique history. After his abdication, King James II left England for France and then in 1869, went to Dublin, Ireland where he issued 6 Pence, Shilling and one-half Crown Coins.. This was called Gun Money because melted down cannon and guns were used in making the coins, even Church Bells and other forms of brass items were used in the production of the coins as well.
