U.S. Small Type Currency
U.S. Small Type Currency includes a large variety of notes for collectors. There are United States Notes, Silver Certificates, and Federal Reserve Notes. Among these are Star Notes, Web Notes, Fancy Serial numbers and Error Notes. The first small sized notes ever produced are Series 1928 United States Notes and Silver Certificates. Notes produced today are Federal Reserve Notes. Series 1929 notes were produced as “National Currency” and they are extremely popular. They can be collected by City, State, Banks, Signatures, etc. Some very rare notes can be found among this category! Also 1929 series “National Currency” notes were produced and payable by “the Federal Reserve Bank” from each of the twelve Federal Reserve banks. These are known as Federal Reserve Bank Notes and are available in $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 denominations. A good reference is the Standard Guide to Small-Size U.S. Paper Money.
